A rare and exciting opportunity exists at Colac Area Health for an AHPRA registered nurse to join our Workforce Training and Development team as a Workforce Training and Development Educator. This challenging position offers a hands on role in the development, coordination and delivery of education and training packages across the organisation, whilst also has input into the strategic direction of education for the health service.The successful candidate will be passionate about education and training and be able to adapt to an ever-changing working environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work within tight time schedules are essential. Dedication to your own ongoing professional development is essential.

As our ideal candidate you: 

  • Have current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse
  • Have Post Graduate qualifications in Education desirable (eg Cert IV in Training and Assessment or working towards) and experience in a specialised field. 
  • Have a proven ability to supervise, teach and evaluate students on placement and program placements.
  • have a professional, friendly and a team player disposition who is capable of representing the department effectively.
  • Have an ability to organise work in a systematic, accurate and timely manner, as well as the ability to adapt in a changing environment.
  • Have a high level interpersonal, computer and written communication skills.
  • Have analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to work flexibly within tight time schedules and in accordance with variable workload demands.
  • Have an ability to build relationships with all levels of the organisation.
  • Have an ability to contribute to the development of courses and actively contribute to further development of our online learning management system.
