Workplace Relations Advisor

In conjunction with the Director Workplace Relations the Workplace Relations Advisor will provide high level support to the broader People and Culture team with specialist workplace relations advice, practices and representation to ensure that Eastern Health provides values based safe workplace and to support the achievement of the Eastern Health strategic plan and the People Strategy.



This role will provide high quality advice and hands on support to the organisation through the People and Culture team and will have responsibility for conducting workplace investigations, providing coaching, advice and assistance to HR Advisors, managers and staff on a range of WPR issues and initiatives.


 


To be successful in this role you should possess:



  • Tertiary Qualifications in Law, Human Resources or other related discipline

  • Certification in Investigations and/or mediation (is desirable)

  • Proven track record in providing Workplace and Employee Relations advice and support in a complex environment.

  • Experience conducting best practice workplace investigations.

  • Prior experience of consulting and collaborating with others and working as an effective member of a team.

  • Experience effectively managing challenging situations and people.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • A strong understanding of relevant workplace laws and how to apply them practically

  • A solid understanding of enterprise agreements and their interaction with the NES, Awards and legislation.

  • A very good working knowledge of investigation processes and key principles such as procedural fairness and natural justice.

  • Understanding of the public health system (is desirable).
