About the program
We’re looking for the next generation of cyber superstars to join the Cyber Defence Centre Internship Program.
Graduates with a Certificate IV in Cyber Security can apply for our paid internship program.
Interns will get hands on experience and develop their cyber skills in the Victorian Government.
You’ll work in the Cyber Defence Centre in the Department of Government Services (DGS).
The Cyber Defence Centre protects the government from cyber threats and responds to cyber incidents.
As an intern, you’ll build cyber skills in:
- Technology
- Digital Forensics and Incident Response
- Threat Intelligence and Data Analysis.
You’ll work with an incredibly knowledgeable and experienced team who’ll support you throughout the program.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who:
- has foundational cyber security skills and a strong desire to learn, grow and succeed within the industry
- has great communication skills
- is flexible and adaptable to change
- shows initiative and accountability for their work
- is comfortable working in a team.
You'll also need strong foundational skills in at least one of the following:
- ICT networks
- Python
- PowerBI
- Project management methodologies - for example, Agile.

The positions are full-time (38 hours a week) but we're open to requests for flexible working or part-time hours.
