Forest Fire Management Victoria are looking for people who want to join our forest firefighting team to help protect the Victorian community this summer.

Each year, we employ field based seasonal firefighters to assist with planned burning and the prevention and suppression of bushfires in parks and forests.
Positions available (generally between November and April) for a period of up to 22 weeks include:
- Firefighters – includes positions designated for Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people
- Rappel Crews – specialist crews
- Fire Support Officers – more administrative type roles
What they do
Seasonal project firefighters compliment our permanent firefighting staff are responsible for bushfire supression and prevention activities such as fuel management activities including planned burning and land management.
Its a job where no two days are the same. Seasonal firefighting is a great way to make a contribution, be challenged, work as part of a team and develop career pathways.
Qualifications or experience
You don’t need any previous work experience in a similar role to apply. Training will be provided and positions are open to people who:
- Have a high level of fitness.
- Are a team player.
- Hold a current manual driver's license.

These positions would suit people who have a high level of fitness, are sound decision makers, enjoy working in a team, a good thinker and problem solver, community minded and looking for a unique challenge. No previous experience in emergency response is needed - we'll teach you all you need to know!
