About the program

We’re looking for the next generation of cyber superstars to join the Victorian Government Cyber Internship Program.

Recent graduates with a Certificate IV in Cyber Security can apply for our paid internship program.

Interns will get hands-on experience and develop their cyber skills in the Victorian Government.

You’ll work in the Department of Government Services (DGS) where cyber experts work to protect the government from cyber threats and responds to cyber incidents.  

Interns may be placed in a team working in one of the following areas:

  • Incident response  
  • Cyber awareness and education
  • Threat intelligence
  • Governance, risk and compliance
  • Project management.

You’ll work with an incredibly knowledgeable and experienced team who’ll support you throughout the program.

  • has foundational cyber security skills and a strong desire to learn, grow and succeed within the industry
  • has great communication skills
  • is flexible and adaptable to change
  • shows initiative and accountability for their work
  • is comfortable working in a team.

The positions are full-time (38 hours a week) but we're open to requests for flexible working or part-time hours.

We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses.
