About the Graduate Program

Opportunities will be available to work on Geelong Fast Rail, Melbourne Airport Rail, Metro Tunnel Project, and Regional Rail Revival within Rail Projects Victoria as part of the 2022 Victoria's Big Build Graduate Program. RPV's focus for our graduates is to support learning and career pathways to develop a high-quality construction sector. Our graduates are encouraged to undertake external rotations with our construction industry partners and our key suppliers during the program. We'll offer you the opportunity to develop technical and professional skills and take unrivalled experiences with you as you continue your professional career in your chosen field. You'll be strongly encouraged to network with our industry partners and internal teams to find your next role after the two-year program. You'll be supported in the lead up to the end of the program through career workshops and guidance from internal teams.

About the role

Gain first-hand experience in the development, review and implementation of electrical systems & systems engineering on major rail infrastructure projects. This may include low voltage, high voltage, traction power, and communication and control systems. Identify project issues and priorities, while assisting with issue resolution and decision making. There will be opportunities to employ research and investigation skills, as well as the initiative to seek, identify and challenge technical requirements. You'll also work within multidisciplinary teams and alongside industry experts and advisors to be exposed to industry best practice and set a foundation for your career in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering.

About you

We are seeking recent graduates, representative of Victoria's diverse community to join the Rail Projects Victoria team as part of the 2022 Victoria's Big Build Graduate Program. You will be highly motivated, demonstrate strong interpersonal and problem-solving capabilities and keen to kick start your career. To be eligible, you must have completed your Bachelor's degree between January 2020 and January 2022.

About Victoria's Big Build  

Victoria's Big Build (Major Transport Infrastructure Authority – MTIA) was established to oversee the major transport projects in planning and construction to deliver 165 major road and rail projects that will change the way that Victorians work, live and travel. Projects teams include - Rail Projects Victoria (Metro Tunnel, Melbourne Airport Rail, Regional Rail Revival), North East Link Project, West Gate Tunnel Project, Level Crossing Removal Project, and Major Roads Project Victoria. MTIA works closely with the Department of Transport to ensure major construction activities and disruptions are coordinated across the network. We also work with industry to ensure it has the skilled workers needed to deliver Victoria's massive construction program.
