About the Roles

1.

2.       DRANZCOG-Advanced Registrar

We are seeking enthusiastic junior medical staff with O&G experience to join the Western Health Women’s Health team in 2023. Western Health provides women’s health services across our network including the tertiary level service at Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s (JKWC) at Sunshine Hospital, and a lower acuity service at Bacchus Marsh Hospital.

JKWC is a purpose-built women’s and children’s facility that opened with state-of-the-art facilities in 2019. The service cares for over 6500 mothers annually and we have a comprehensive tertiary team comprising Maternal Fetal Medicine, obstetric medicine, obstetric anaesthesia and a recently opened Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Gynaecology services include general gynaecology as well as gynae-oncology, urogynaecology & minimally invasive surgery.

Bacchus Marsh Hospital joined the Western Health network in 2021. The lower risk maternity service is expected to grow to approximately 1000 births annually whilst the gynaecology service is expanding to support a large number of theatre sessions and extensive ambulatory services.

In 2023, we are offering

Both roles provide opportunities to gain skills in all areas of O&G. All of our registrars participate in the various aspects of the structured teaching program that is an integral part of our accredited RANZCOG training status. Successful applicants who intend applying for vocational training will be supported by the unit in their application, conditional on meeting expectations with respect to service delivery and demonstrating relevant O&G skills.
