ABOUT THE ROLE:
Mercy Mental health is seeking experienced medical officers with well-developed communication skills to enter Stage 1 of the RANZCP training program in February 2025.
About the Mercy training program:
Our new RANZCP training program provides all mandatory rotations and offers registrars the opportunity to work in the most extensive perinatal service in the state. The first year inpatient rotations are based in our new 54 bed Clare Moore Building at Werribee and are supervised by fulltime RANZCP accredited supervisors who are passionate about teaching. Accredited rotations include:
The Child and Adolescent rotation is a community position located at Hoppers Crossing provided in partnership with Royal Children’s Hospital. Mercy Registrars will take part in the RCH teaching program during their rotation.
Education, exams and supervision
Mercy Health offers a protected 2 hours of weekly education program which includes case presentations, journal club and regular Consultant teachings on psychiatry related topics. First year registrars also receive additional weekly case based bedside teaching. Written and Clinical exam preparation courses are provided, as is supervision for the psychotherapy long case. Registrars will also have a range of opportunities to complete their scholarly project though our links with Notre Dame University and Perinatal Mental Health specialists working group.
