Latrobe Regional Hospital (LRH) is the major provider of specialist health services in the Gippsland region, east of Melbourne.  Our comprehensive range of services extends to emergency and intensive care, elective surgery, allied health, obstetrics, medical and radiation oncology at the Gippsland Cancer Care Centre, dialysis and aged care.


LRH has a number of outstanding facilities following a recent expansion. These include a cardiac catheterisation laboratory, large Emergency Department, endoscopy suites and modern and contemporary inpatient units. These complement extensive Allied Health amenities including a gym and pool. LRH is the regional provider of mental health services in Gippsland. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and suitably qualified RPN/ SW/ OT/ PSYCHOLOGIST to join the Wonthaggi Community Mental Health team at Latrobe Regional Hospital on a Part Time Fixed Term until 28th March 2021 basis.


Reporting to the Team Manager the successful applicant will play an important role in undertaking a full range of clinical duties including the provision of a high standard of clinical assessment, evidence based treatment and support to consumers experiencing significant mental health difficulties and their carers/families.


 The successful applicant will be required to: partake in the Multidisciplinary Team and provide a range of clinical and therapeutic interventions including the provision of recovery orientated practice using the Optimal Health Program. All ACIS clinicians shall actively contribute to the development and implementation of this Model. Acute Community Intervention Service components include urgent community-based assessment and short-term treatment interventions for people with mental illness in crisis, acute assessment and treatment in the emergency department and telephone based mental health triage.


 To be successful in this position you will need to have:


Registered Nurse Division 1* or 3. OR



  • Degree or Diploma of a recognised school of Occupational Therapy or to be eligible to be a member of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. OR

  • Appropriate Post Graduate Qualification in Clinical Psychology or membership of or to be eligible to be a member of the Australian health practitioner Regulation Agency. OR

  • Degree or Diploma in Social Work eligibility or other qualification acceptable for membership to AASW.
