About the Role

The Acquisition Case Manager will form part of the Transport Property Division and manage various compulsory acquisition matters and other government land transactions (e.g. negotiation of leases/licences, purchases, temporary occupations, underground strata divestments and Planning and Environment Act claims) for the Division’s delivery partners including Department of Transport and Planning projects, Westgate Tunnel Project, Level Crossing Removal Project, North East Link Program, Major Roads Project Victoria and Suburban Rail Loop.

Position Outcomes

The DTP is seeking a skilled professional with demonstrated expertise in compulsory acquisition and other land transactions, with understanding of relevant legislation such as the Land Acquisition and Compensation Act 1986 and the Major Transport Projects Facilitation Act 2009.
 

The ideal candidate will excel in managing multiple compulsory acquisition and other transaction matters from inception to settlement, including understanding the key issues, proactively driving progress and implementing corrective actions as needed for each assigned matter. Strong interpersonal skills are essential in order to foster genuine internal and external relationships for optimal outcomes.
 

The successful candidate will exhibit accomplished abilities in critical thinking, and problem-solving, contributing to a team environment that values creativity and rewards innovation.

Additionally, the role requires adept stakeholder management to build partnerships and ensure organisational objectives are met. Personal attributes such as resilience and decisiveness are valued, enabling the candidate to maintain composure under pressure from multiple sources.
