About the role:

The Road Policing Enforcement Division's (RPED) Traffic Camera Office (TCO) maintains traffic camera availability at a sufficient level to dramatically increase the likelihood of speed and red-light offence detection, creating a real deterrent to dangerous road behaviour and establishing a base for long term modification in driver behaviour and attitude thus reducing the number and severity of road traffic collisions.

Consisting of both VPS and Sworn employees; the TCO issues all Road Safety Camera Infringements, which involves strong engagement with road safety partners and contracted service providers that maintain the traffic camera network. Functions within the TCO also include review of all infringements, nomination of infringements, brief preparation/prosecution assistance, mobile camera roster management, infringement evidence validation, tolling infringements/prosecutions, high risk driver investigations, and infringement management for all of Victoria Police.

As one of the successful applicants, you will join the team bringing with you appropriate administrative, organisational, and customer service experience. The Administrative Support Officer undertakes a range of administrative and processing responsibilities as well as effectively communicating with external customers within a diverse workforce.

  • Multiple fixed-term positions available until 30 June 2020 – with a possibility of extension.

Your duties will include:

  • Reviewing and processing applications for review recording notes and decisions electronically;
  • Collating and preparing briefs of evidence;
  • Attending to telephone and counter enquiries from both internal and external key stakeholders;
  • Demonstrating integrity particularly in relation to handling confidential material;
  • Other duties as required.


As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • A strong commitment to high quality customer service delivery standards to internal and external customers;
  • A proven ability to work in a team environment as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Flexibility - with the ability to prioritise tasks and motivation to achieve common goals;
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, both verbally and written;
  • Strong computer skills.


Requirements and relevant information:

  • Multiple fixed-term positions available until 30 June 2020 – with a possibility of extension.
  • Positions are located at the Traffic Camera Office in Melbourne CBD.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
