Victoria Police is currently advertising One (1) Full-time, VPS-2, Administrative / Property Officer position within Southern Metro Region, Division Four based out of the Seaford Multi-Disciplinary Centre (MDC) housing Victoria Police, The Department of Fairness, Family and Housing (DFFH) and the Southeast Centre Against Sexual Assault (SECASA).

As the successful applicant you will be the first point of contact within the reception area for Victoria Police having excellent communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information is a key part of this role as you will be required to answer any incoming calls and deal with clients entering the building.

The successful applicant will also be expected to manage any property requirements for Frankston Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation team (SOCIT) as well as perform secretariat duties on behalf of the Southern MDC Co-ordinator.

This is an exciting, multi-faceted role working with unique challenges and complexities in a face paced environment.

Your duties will include:

  • General administrative functions and reception duties (this also includes dealing with clients in very sensitive situations) and various Property officer functions.
  • Building great and lasting working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Report writing (including monthly reports), transcription abilities and undertaking the preparation, maintenance and management of various confidential databases and registers that can be manual or electronic.
  • DNA swabs – manage the forensic requests, train members on new processes.
  • Various OHS duties like attending meetings, maintenance (including work orders and their completion).

Please note that your duties will also include performing secretariat duties on behalf of the Southern MDC Co-ordinator:

  • Secretariat role – Producing agendas, minutes of meetings, following up on action items.
  • Document production/formatting – Induction and Emergency management.
  • Organise Induction presentation- email managers for list of attendees, send out invites, organise speakers, write and email agenda to attendees and guest speakers.

The successful applicant needs to be aware that you will be required to perform this duty specifically out of Seaford and Dandenong.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in working with computers and systems to perform a range of administrative tasks including, records management, data entry and word processing tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must have the ability to accurately maintain systematic and administrative records.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment and autonomously.
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated (this includes a booster vaccination) and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
