Administration Officer – Youth Access Team

Your new team

Orygen Specialist Program provides mental health services to young people aged 15-25 and their families/carers in Melbourne's northwest and western suburbs.

YAT provides a youth triage, assessment, community treatment and crisis intervention mental health care response to young people living in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne.

Your new role:

  • Assist in ensuring all legal documentation is complete and accurate and forwarded when necessary to the appropriate coordinator within the area mental health service
  • Data entry in an accurate and timely manner
  • Use the state-wide mental health, hospital and local information management systems efficiently and appropriately (CMI, iPM, Epic)
  • Ensure reconciliation between systems are in accordance with network policy
  • Maintain storage areas ensuring adequate supplies of approved forms are available
  • Support YAT clincians to ensure a high standrad of service delivery is maintained
  • Telephone call management
  • Service clients and families who present at our front recpetion for appointments
  • Work with the YAT Manager and requests for administaion officer support in new or existing admin duties
  • Support CMI contact data entry 

About You:

You will have initiative, a commitment to excellence, analytical and problem-solving skills, an ability to think conceptually as well as creatively, and the capacity and aptitude to. You have highly developed customer service and interpersonal skills, as well as:

  • Relevant clerical experience and administrative skills in the public health sector or similar
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medical record systems
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise, manage and respond flexibly to a variety of tasks
  • Concise written and verbal communication skills, including professional telephone manner
  • Demonstrated computer skills with all Microsoft programs, and ability to learn other computer database programs

  • This position is based at Footscray, the successful applicant may be required to work across Orygen's multiple sites these include Sunshine, Parkville and Wyndham but not limited to, Orygen is expanding and new sites will be operational as they are developed
