Inglewood is situated in Central Victoria, approximately 50km and only 35 minutes’ drive north of the Bendigo CBD. Inglewood was founded in 1859 and is a notable example of a Victorian gold rush town. It is the largest town in the Loddon Shire, with a character-filled main street lined with an eclectic mix of old wares stores and a couple of great cafes! Inglewood & Districts Health Service The Inglewood & Districts Health Service (IDHS) is located on the same site where the original Inglewood hospital was built in 1863. IDHS services a population of approximately 5,500 (Census, 2021) in the southern half of the Loddon shire including the communities of Bridgewater, Inglewood, Korong Vale, Newbridge, Serpentine, Tarnagulla, Wedderburn and surrounding townships. IDHS is a busy rural health service with a 2-bed urgent care centre, 8 acute hospital beds, a 35-bed residential aged care home and large community health service. In 2023-24 a new purpose-built state-of-the-art community health and wellness centre was built on the site and residents can access a range of health services here including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, exercise physiology, dietetics, social work, paediatric speech pathology, child and adult mental health services, diabetes education, chronic disease nursing, cardiac rehabilitation, pulmonary rehabilitation and strength training just to mention a few! IDHS has strategic alliances and partnerships with a range of hospitals, health services, health alliances and government bodies.

Position Title:  Allied Health Assistant

Classification:  As per contract

Salary range per hour:    As per contract + superannuation + generous salary packaging options

Employment Type:  Ongoing part-time, 4 days per fortnight

Award:  Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2025

Role description

The Allied Health Assistant will provide clinical and administrative support to Allied Health Professional across all service areas of IDHS. The AHA will work closely with a range of different disciplines to work under direction and guidance in the delivery of therapy, equipment and completion of administrative tasks.

As an integral part of the Community and Allied Health Team, the AHA will contribute to the overall performance of the team consistent with IDHS's mission and values.

About you

  • Certificate IV in Allied Health or equivalent training in Allied Health
  • Current Victorian drivers' licence
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to teamwork and lifelong learning.
