Allied Health Assistant (Grade 3) GEM/Palliative/Residential Aged Care Services



  • Permanent Part Time  30 hours/week

  • $61,963.20 pa (paid pro rata)

  • New Residential Aged Care Facility and GEM/Palliative care units

  • 5 weeks Annual Leave

About the role 


An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Grade 3 Allied Health Assistant to join the Wantirna Health Gem/Palliative Care and RACS physiotherapy team. This role would suit a passionate Allied Health Assistant with strong communication skills and experience in providing care to the older person. This role offers great opportunity for professional development, working closely with Physiotherapy and the broader multidisciplinary team.



About you 


To be successful in this role you will possess:


Essential:



  • Completion of the Certificate 4 (Allied Health Assistant) from a registered training organisation or equivalent

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working as an AHA

  • Experience as a qualified AHA in the public healthcare environment

  • A strong commitment to high quality care

  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Demonstrated commitment to staff development, and continuing professional development.

  • Experience and highly developed ability to supervise/mentor junior Allied Health Assistants, Allied Health students and/or work experience students.



Desirable:



  • Previous experience in Aged care and/or  Gem Sub Acute and /or Palliative care in the public healthcare environment

  • Experience in interdisciplinary clinical practice.
