About Monash Pathology


Monash Health is the largest public hospital network in Victoria and is affiliated to Monash University. The pathology department processes approximately 30,000 surgical biopsies, 7,000 cytology specimens and more than 150 perinatal autopsies each year.


The Department is staffed by 11 EFT Anatomical Pathologists and 4 Anatomical Pathology registrars.


About the Role


The successful applicant will provide comprehensive specialist diagnostic services in Anatomical Pathology and Cytology.  The candidate should be willing to cover specialist areas such as breast and uropathology. The candidate should be willing to assist with perinatal autopsy work as and when required. The candidate should be willing to participate in undergraduate/postgraduate teaching and quality activities. Any research interest will be encouraged and supported. This is a fixed term maternity leave replacement position.

What you need:



  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

  • Working with Children's Certificate

  • Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications

  • Specific qualifications ( FRCPA) through the Royal College of Pathologists, Australasia

  • Previous experience in Anatomical Pathology is desirable
