Exciting opportunity to join Victoria Legal Aid’s Chambers in the position of Associate In-House Counsel, Family and Children's Law.

About the role:
Victoria Legal Aid's Chambers provides high quality advocacy and advice services to in house lawyers and is committed to the highest standards of advocacy. Reporting to the Senior In-House Counsel you will appeal has counsel and provide high quality legal representation and expert advice to clients appearing before Victorian and Federal courts and tribunals in family and children's law matters.

In collaboration with other Chambers Advocates, you will provide advice and responses to law reform proposals as well as delivering training programs to enhance the professional development of lawyers.

About you:
You will have experience in the practice of family and children's law and experience in advocacy and the preparation of complex litigation. You will have an ability to provide advice on legal and policy issues within limited time constraints.

Crucial to your success in this role will be your ability to mentor and train staff in advocacy skills and you will also have a passion for advocating for clients with complex issues. You will also demonstrate a willingness to contribute to the promotion of the organisation and its values.
