Our Journey

Ward 41 provides holistic care to General Medicine patients accommodating up to 38 patients.  Patients are admitted to General Medicine with a wide variety of acute medical problems who can be discharged to a variety of settings including home, other health care services and aged care services.  We pride ourselves on the delivery of high quality care and strive for positive outcomes and experiences for our patients and staff. This is a fast paced work environment that provides opportunities and challenges for staff.

A day in the life of a Registered Nurse – General Medicine

You’ll enjoy the variety and challenge that comes from working with skilled senior staff and clinical mentors, while being supported by the leadership team across the program and across our large, complex health service.

We are currently seeking applicants for the position of Associate Nurse Manager, who wish to progress their nursing career in experiencing leadership and mentoring as well as enhancing their clinical knowledge.

Work closely in supporting the Nurse Manager to ensure the provision of safe and effective care as well as assist with the efficient management of the ward on a shift basis.

• Leading the team and ensuring the provision of patient centred care to our cohort of patients in General Medicine


• Support and management of the ward on a shift by shift basis while collaborating with the broader management and leadership team


• Role modelling and mentoring likeminded employee’s and working within the team collaboratively


• Participating in quality improvement across the program to support best practice

We have ongoing full and part time opportunities across a 24/7 rotational roster and permanent night duty rosters will also be considered with ability to work occasional daytime rotations in discussion with Nurse Manager.

What you bring

You are an experienced Registered Nurse with a positive attitude who loves to laugh and enjoys being at work with likeminded nurses. You share this passion for nursing through demonstrating your skill and knowledge with your patients while donning a smile, bringing positivity and demonstrating your leadership qualities to the team. This is why you chose to be a nurse after all!

Experience in running shifts across a busy ward is a must for this role, and General Medicine experience is highly regarded.  Those with strong acute experience are also encouraged to apply.
