About the Role 

We are seeking applications for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager to join our team at Grampians Health in Stawell.

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is a senior position that encompasses management responsibilities, particularly in the day-to-day coordination of the ward and after hours oversees the coordination of the hospital and residential aged care services, and is a key support to the Nurse Unit Manager in ensuring the organisation meets its strategic and operational objectives. The ANUM works as a member of a multidisciplinary team that provides quality client-focused care to achieve optimal health care outcomes.

  • Acute surgical and day procedure services (Monday to Friday)
  • 27-bed inpatient unit providing medical, surgical, transitional care and Palliative Care services
  • 24/7 Urgent Care Centre
  • Day Oncology
  • Community care/primary health services and
  • 36-bed residential aged care facility

Skills and experience

  • An Innovative and energetic leader able to navigate the unique challenges of regional healthcare in a way that supports the clinical care providers and is aligned with the organisational strategic plans and operational objectives.
  • A supportive leader that will support the Nurse Unit Manager in providing strength and direction to enable the ongoing development of the nursing team and fosters a positive work place culture.
  • Ability to contribute and help drive, design and implement work system improvements that support ongoing quality improvement, underpinned by clinical excellence.
  • A leader that is invested in mentoring and actively contributing to the development of the acute services nursing team and is a proud and positive role model. 
  • Clinical expertise and an invested interest in risk management that optimises clinical outcomes and supports the policies and procedures that guide our clinical practice
  • Actively focused and driven to engage our community with a person-centred care approach to ensure a cohesive and responsive quality healthcare service.
  • A background in Emergency Nursing with a Postgraduate qualification is desirable but not essential
