AVS was established by the Victorian Government in 1986 to provide a commercial interface between its agricultural research and development activities and the private sector. The Business Enablement & Data Security Officer will report to the AVS Chief Financial Officer & Company Secretary. The position is part of the Corporate and Finance Team within Agriculture Victoria Services Pty Ltd (AVS). For further information on the position, please refer to the attached position description.

Agriculture Victoria Services Pty Ltd (AVS) was established by the Victorian Government in 1986 to provide a commercial interface between its agricultural research and development activities and the private sector. Today, AVS is widely recognised for protecting and commercialising technologies generated by the Agriculture Victoria Research Branch (hereinafter, ‘AVR') of the State of Victoria's Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (hereinafter, ‘DJPR').

Activities undertaken by AVS on behalf of AVR include:

Protection and management of intellectual property (IP) generated from R&D projects via the Department's Research Divisions.
IP strategy formulation for the Department's research inventions to maximise Victorian primary industry adoption and impact.
Technology assessment and economic value modelling of Department innovations to establish innovation value proposition for private sector partners.
Commercialisation (licensing) of Department-created IP where industry and economic benefits to Victoria are clear and it is appropriate to seek a commercial return.
Negotiation and establishment of contract sponsored and collaborative research and development agreements with major, private sector, route-to-impact partners.
Investment of company funds to accelerate the delivery of the Department's commercially valuable technologies to the marketplace.
The company is governed by a skill-based Board of six directors who are appointed by the Minister for Agriculture and Food Security and approved by cabinet.

The position of AVS Business Enablement & Data Security Officer forms a part of the Corporate and Finance Team within AVS and will report to the AVS Chief Financial Officer & Company Secretary.

We're looking for a candidate with demonstrated experience in exercising professional independent and creative judgement to perform and manage a variety of complex duties in relation to systems & processes and procedures where objectives may be only partially defined to generate viable, innovative options at functional design level for projects that would address the identified problem.

We are after an enthusiastic and innovative candidate able to prepare clear and concise emails, memoranda, correspondence, briefs and other project documentation as required to a high standard.

The successful applicant will have exceptional stakeholder relationship management, be proactive and is detailed focussed.
