A rare permanent opportunity for an experience Data Engineer to join our Building Systems Transformation team. A generous salary up to $170,579 is available (relative to industry experience)

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Building System Transformation team. This is a key technical role within the team that will be tasked with building confidence in, and driving the future of, the digital landscape across the organisation.

The primary responsibility of the Azure Data Engineer is to continue to build, expand and maintain the existing Azure data platform. The Azure Data Engineer will work with structured and unstructured data and has a good understanding of Azure Data Factory, Data Lake and DevOps.

The VBA is currently progressing a Business Systems Transformation program. As a result, the Azure Data Engineer will be tasked with expanding the development of the existing Azure Data Analytics Platform (DAP) as the delivery of the BST systems roadmap transitions the architecture from the current state to the future state.

 The candidate will lead and own the existing Azure data platform in consultation with the Chief Data Officer and other members of the Data Office team.

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role utilising the Microsoft Azure platform or toolset.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the design and development of data warehouse or business intelligence solutions.
  • Experience with Data Modelling (Data Structures, SQL, Data Analytics, EDM)
  • Solid understanding and application of data engineering best practices and refactoring methods.
