About the Role:

A full time, ongoing opportunity has arisen for a Brigade Administrative Support Officer (BASO) to join the team at Ararat.  The BASO is required to provide administrative support to enhance the Brigades viability and service to the Community.

Your days will see you:

  • Undertake and coordinate administrative duties in support of Brigade and Group Management Team(s) to provide support to volunteers responsible for the delivery of services to the community
  • Support the Brigade's general and specific administrative requirements including word processing, records management and accounting, grants applications etc.
  • Undertake duties in relation to recruitment and retention of volunteer members of the brigade as required by the Brigade Management Team(s)
  • Provide support as required and within the skill set of the BASO for operational activity within the District and state/interstate. 
  • A key function of this position is to empower the brigade to become more resilient in order to grow the volunteer capacity and capability of their community

This role would be perfect for someone with a strong administrative background keen to gain in depth exposure to both volunteer and brigade sustainability who is also keen to gain professional development as part of an organisation that has a meaningful purpose in the community.  

This role will require attendance at brigade and group meetings of an evening.
