The Business Support Officer provides a diverse range of end-to-end administrative services to the Heritage Council in support of its decision-making functions and its conduct of statutory processes under the Heritage Actv2017. The Business Support Officer provides front of house services to members of the public and administrative support to ensure that statutory processes, including hearings and reviews, are completed within required timeframes and communicated to the public and interested parties. The position assists the Heritage Council Secretariat in matters of board governance, member support, project administration, event planning and stakeholder liaison. The position may also be required to undertake heritage project work with supervision.

Reporting to the Executive Officer, Heritage Council of Victoria Secretariat, this position will require a motivated individual with strong organisational and communication skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Experience in administration, government, or experience supporting boards would be an advantage.
  • A tertiary qualification in cultural heritage management or knowledge and familiarity with cultural heritage management practices is preferred but not essential.

This is a fixed term position until 20 January 2023.
