About the branch

The Commercial Directorate provides the strategies, specialist advice, business processes and systems to efficiently and effectively deliver core support services to enable Parks Victoria to be financially sustainable, high performing, and ensure our activities are aligned with strategic objectives. The Directorate maintains effective strategic level relationships to influence policy and legislation to provide an enabling environment as well as facilitating collaboration and championing continuous improvement at every opportunity.

Each region consists of a diverse range of parks and reserves.  Staff working within the Region are responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, stakeholder management, park planning and emergency response.

About the role and your responsibilities:  

We are looking for three Cave Guide Rangers to provide high quality factual interpretation of the Buchan Caves, in a professional manner, with the aim of enhancing the enjoyment and appreciate of visitors to the reserve.

As a Cave Guide Ranger you will work as part of a team responsible for the overall management of the Buchan Caves Reserve and/or parks within the area. This includes all aspects of the delivery of on-ground works to protect the natural and cultural values and visitor facilities, and interpreting the value and features of the park to visitors and other stakeholders. You will demonstrate a strong personal work ethic and actively participate in a team environment ensuring that the overall success of the team is considered to be an outcome of individual success.  In this role you will be adaptable and flexible to on the ground service requirements in order to ensure superior park management services are achieved at all times.

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience in grounds and general maintenance
  • Relevant level of knowledge of regulations and compliance procedures
  • A current employee Working with Children Check is required.
