An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Learning and Development Unit at West Gippsland Healthcare Group in the role of Allied and Community Health Educator. This is a permanent full-time position.

Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager, you will work within a motivated and dedicated team that provides support to the organisation over a wide range of education and development services, including but not limited to, in-service education, development and delivery of training programs, competency assessments, supervision of student placements and staff development education.

We are seeking expressions of interest from motivated, experienced and enthusiastic people with a passion for learning and development to work collaboratively in providing high-quality learning opportunities, using a range of modalities that support and enable participants to practice as safe, confident and accountable professionals.

This stimulating role would suit an experienced Allied Health professional who has expertise in Allied and Community Health and is flexible, solutions-focused, committed to quality, willing to accept a challenge and enjoys working within a team that is dedicated to providing great service to their client group.

Our preferred candidate will have:

  • Degree in an Allied Health or Nursing profession
  • Registration in a relevant field or where registration is not applicable, eligibility for registration with the appropriate self-regulatory program or body
  • Extensive clinical experience in a relevant discipline in Allied and Community Health, no less than 5 years
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical education, development and supervision in relevant areas and/or inter-disciplinary field
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in education/clinical education

Desirable

  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or relevant tertiary qualification in education
  • Post Graduate qualification in the respective Allied health field.

IMPORTANT: All staff employed in the healthcare sector are required to be fully (3 doses) vaccinated for COVID-19 and 2023 Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.

The new hospital is set to feature 233 beds and 33 emergency department treatment spaces as well as aged care and an expanded maternity facility.
