Your role in our future.



We are seeking a highly motivated nurse to join the Apheresis team as a clinical nurse consultant.



The primary purpose of this position is to be accountable for the provision of evidence based clinical nursing care of Haematology/Oncology patients in apheresis, act as an expert clinical resource for precinct staff and external clients and provide visible clinical leadership across the Parkville precinct.


The role will lead, support and ensure evidence based nursing care that meets professional, organisational, legal and ethical standards in order to optimise health outcomes for patients and their families.


This position also liaises between clinical areas in a multidisciplinary framework, plays a pivotal role in supporting Quality Assurance programs and in developing and delivering clinical research and commercial outcomes in conjunction with commercial partners.


The position will hold an education and project portfolio that will be developed with the apheresis leadership team and is in accordance with the haematology and apheresis service delivery plan.



This is an ongoing position 1.0 EFT (80.00 hours per fortnight).



Successful Applicants will possess:



  • Division 1 Nurse Registration with a minimum of 5 years’ acute oncology experience  predominantly in Apheresis/Haematology

  • Expertise in a broad range of apheresis procedures

  • Post Graduate Qualifications in a specialty nursing field

  • Evidence of commitment to evidence based practice and ongoing quality improvement in oncology/haematology nursing

  • Proven clinical leadership and experience relevant to the role

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and team building skills

  • Experience in GMP, FACT or NATA quality systems

Salary Remuneration in line with Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020-2024.
