About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for a physiotherapist to join Eastern Health as a Team Leader (Grade 3)for the Chronic Rehabilitation Groups (CRG) as part of Integrated Services program (HARP & CRG). This role entails operational leadership of a dynamic interdisciplinary team, working with the HARP Grade 3 Team Leader to provideclinical oversight of the physiotherapy staff and provision of high quality physiotherapy care of Chronic Rehab Groups clients. Based at the Wantirna Health site, the successful applicant will work closely with the Manager to promote an integrated service that is consistent with the mission and values of Eastern Heath.

As team leader, you will provide clinical supervision to Grade 2 physiotherapists and have oversight of the newly established Grade 1 program in HARP/Chronic Rehab. You will receive clinical supervision from the Grade 4 Cardiorespiratory physiotherapist and become a member of both the Eastern Health Cardiorespiratory and Aged and Complex Care physiotherapy senior leadership teams, including opportunities to participate in innovative quality and research projects.

Clinically, you will have opportunity to provide high quality care of a diverse range of Chronic Rehab and HARP clients, including cardiac rehabilitation, pulmonary rehabilitation and oncology rehabilitation clients  in both centre and home based settings.

About you

You will be an experienced physiotherapist with an interest in cardiorespiratory care, frailty, falls and oncology. You will be proficient in identification and management of the deteriorating patient and support your team to achieve high standards of safety and effectiveness. As a leader, you will have demonstrated flexibility, creativity and a solution-focussed outlook.  You will have highly developed communication skills and work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Clinical qualification and AHPRA registration (eligible AHPRA registered profession: Physiotherapy)
  • Current Registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia
  • Completion of a relevant post graduate qualifications, or commencement thereof with strong progress and commitment to completion
  • Extensive clinical and leadership experience, including supervision of staff, human resource management, recruitment and leadership of interdisciplinary teams
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent team integration skills
  • Sound knowledge of community organisation and networks
  • Sound computer skills
  • Demonstrated capacity to conduct supervision and performance improvement discussions with staff
  • Demonstrated high level of analytical thinking and investigative skills involving research, benchmarking and resource identification, including innovative service delivery models.
  • Demonstrated ability, knowledge and skills to lead the professional development of others
  • Demonstrated capacity for skilled negotiation and wide consultation at all levels.
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence
