Consultant in Paediatric Endocrinology

About The Role


Consultant in Endocrinology – Sessional Position (0.37 EFT negotiable) with a 1 in 4 after hours on-call roster and active participation with the department of paediatric endocrinology and diabetes multidisciplinary team.


Attendance at paediatric diabetes and endocrinology clinics on various pre-set dates of the week including one clinic per month in the Young Adult Diabetes Service (YADS) Clinic which provides transition support for 15 – 25 year olds with Type 1 diabetes mellitus, with twice monthly multidisciplinary evening clinics (5 – 8.30pm) in Monash Children’s Hospital, Clayton, Specialist Consulting 1 & 2.


Attendance at multi-disciplinary team meeting; expectation of involvement in supervision, teaching of junior medical staff and medical students and involvement in educational and research activities within the unit.


What we’re looking for in you  



  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

  • Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, a strong team focus and an innovative approach



  • Has the appropriate level of clinical knowledge and skills to undertake the role of Consultant 

  • Has the appropriate level of relevant clinical experience to undertake the specific role
