The Fetal Diagnostic Unit located at Monash Medical Centre has a major clinical role in providing expert multidisciplinary care and management for women whose pregnancy is complicated by fetal abnormalities. As a senior medical staff in the Fetal Diagnostic Unit, your responsibilities are complex and demanding.


About the Role


The Women's & Newborn Program is seeking to appoint a part time consultant obstetrician in the Fetal Diagnostic Unit at Monash Medical Centre. In this role, your primary responsibility is to provide tertiary diagnostic ultrasound expertise and prenatal counselling for women who are referred for management of high pregnancies complicated by fetal abnormality.


About You


The successful candidate(s) will have tertiary obstetric ultrasound expertise in diagnosis and management of fetal abnormalities with specific expertise in antenatal screening of fetal abnormalities, pre-eclampsia, placental insufficiency and preterm birth and antenatal management of complex multiple pregnancies.


What You Need


Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists


RANZCOG Certified Obstetric and Gynaecological Ultrasound subspecialist (COGU) or equivalent


The incumbent must complete the Credentialling and Scope of Practice process prior to appointment and commencement. This will be reviewed on a regular basis.
