An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced individual to join the team at MDHS to fulfil an important role as a Consumer and Community Engagement Partner. Consumer and Community Engagement Partner

Permanent Full Time – 80 hours per fortnight

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced individual to join the team at MDHS to fulfil an important role as a Consumer and Community Engagement Partner. The Health in Partnership Program at MDHS has been established to support the organisational development and implementation of the MDHS Consumer and Community Participation Framework. The framework outlines how MDHS will engage with and support consumers and community members to partner with our health service with the aim of improving service delivery for members of the Maryborough community. The program supports consumer involvement in numerous activities relating to governance systems and processes as well as the review and design of services. The Consumer and Community Engagement Partner will be responsible for the implementation and evaluation of the Health in Partnership Program. A significant element of the role will be the recruitment and support for consumers participating in the Health in Partnership program, and increasing the awareness of the importance of consumer involvement in organisational governance, planning and design.  Join our dynamic and friendly health service in a vibrant community.  Apply now!

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  • Minimum of 5 years clinical experience
  • Experience of working with consumers and consumer advocacy is an advantage
  • Knowledge of the Victorian Partnering with Consumers Framework
  • A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to consumer safety, consumer engagement and person centred care
  • Ability to establish and maintain a network of relationships with a wide range of people from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds

 Desirable

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant health or community services discipline
  • Consumer leadership training
  • Qualifications in Consumer and Community Engagement

  • Attention to detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external key stakeholders in order to drive consumer engagement initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and demonstrated experience in developing reports and governance documents
  • Excellent time management skills and demonstrated experience in managing multiple competing priorities while meeting timelines and ensuring high quality work output
  • Demonstrates leadership skills and traits characteristic of a senior role, exhibiting behaviours and expectations in line with organisation values

  • Ability to accept direction as well as work independently to achieve outcomes
