About Asset Services
The Asset Services Department is committed to providing the highest standard of specialised asset management and engineering maintenance to all of Austin Health’s campuses.
Asset Services is part of the Information & Services directorate and is responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair and replacement of all buildings, plant, and all medical equipment. The department holds accountability for Austin Health’s Infrastructure, Biomedical Engineering and Maintenance Service teams.
About the role
The Contracts & Fleet Manager will be responsible to manage efficiently and effectively the contracts and supplier agreements, ensuring provision of a high-quality service that meets the needs of the clients, patients and staff, adherence to legislative responsibilities and maintenance of a safe work environment.
The position objective is to:
To ensure the currency and requirements of supply and service contracts/agreements in relation to medical assets.
To identify and execute best practices to suit organisational requirements in product acquisition.
Promote and manage the delivery of education programs including tracking, reporting and lessons learnt on delivered programs.
Lead interdisciplinary steering committees and working parties across the organisation for successful implementation of strategies and programs.
Identify risks and issues, develop, and manage appropriate mitigation strategies and innovative solutions with early escalation of concerns.

The responsibilities for the is role focus on:
To work with the Assets Services Team to deliver fleet management strategic goals for key medical equipment in line with the organisation’s strategic goals.
Identify the need and manage the execution of fleet renewal projects for medical equipment fleets.
Identify the need and manage the execution of the repair and maintenance contracts/agreements for medical assets.
To be an interface for Asset Services, between Clinical staff and Austin Health Procurement team for tender and evaluation activities and purposes.
Identify, manage, and execute Government grant submissions in conjunction with Asset Services needs and requirements.
Develop strategies to procure medical asset on consumable contracts and alleviate CAPEX expenditure on acquisition of assets.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:
Experience in improving efficiency in the healthcare setting.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Relevant contract experience in a Healthcare environment.
Public tendering experience in a health agency setting.
