Coordinator, Regional Engagement (Commonwealth Games)

  • $127,467 - $170,579 (Plus Superannuation)

The Team

The position of Coordinator, Regional Engagement (Commonwealth Games) forms a part of the Regional Development Victoria Branch within the Rural and Regional Victoria Group.

Regional Development Victoria (RDV) is the Victorian Government's lead agency in developing rural and regional Victoria. With a focus on facilitating stronger communities utilising an evidence-based approach RDV acts as a partner and investor to provide rural and regional Victoria with better infrastructure, facilities, and services; strengthen the economic and social base of communities; create jobs and improve career opportunities for regional Victorians; and support local project development and planning.  

Rural and Regional Victoria provides support to the 2026 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee and the Office of the Commonwealth Games.

The Role

Located in Rural and Regional Victoria this role will report to the Regional Director and will provide coordination, advice and support for regional engagement for 2026 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee and the Office of the Commonwealth Games. The Coordinator, Regional Engagement will advise, support, lead and deliver on the engagement and involvement of regional stakeholders across all components of the regional games.

Other Key Accountabilities include:

·       Initiate, plan and deliver assigned projects in the implementation of the Commonwealth Games engagement strategy by liaising with stakeholders and across government where requested.
·       Prepare written briefs, advice and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders, including executive management, stakeholders and Ministerial offices, conveying complex concepts and information.
·       Have input and provide advice on communication and engagement materials and where needed lead/facilitate workshops and round tables with internal and external stakeholders. 

The Candidate

You will use your highly developed stakeholder relationship skills and your ability to negoatiate, leverage and lead conversations to produce outcomes and meet the needs of the business and our stakeholders. Thanks to your highly developed ability to provide expert advice to senior stakeholders on current and potential issues and strategic and operational matters, you are able to drive a continuous improvement approach to regional engagement for the successful delivery of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in regional Victoria.
