About the role:

The Data Analyst will work in a small team responsible for providing advanced predictive modelling and anomaly detection to support EPA’s decision making. The Data Analyst will help in the development of advanced data analytics for a specific waste reporting project.

The advanced waste analytics project will involve the Data Analyst working with data engineers, subject matter experts and Power BI builders to provide insights into several key areas identified by EPA regarding the movement and transport of waste.

In this role you will:

  • Provide BI capabilities for the organization, including provisioning of data in the BI tool, set the standards and govern BI reports.
  • Provide advanced data analysis to identify anomalies.
  • Peer review outputs, processes, and techniques
  • Provide documentation on techniques and processes, as well as version control.

Skills and experience:

  • A relevant tertiary degree and/or post graduate qualifications in data science, mathematics, statistics, or a closely related discipline with a formal statistics component is required.
  • Experience in BI tools especially Power BI including ability to bring in multiple data sets from different ERP systems and build connectors to provide reporting capability across the organisation.
  • Demonstrated applied experience in data science (specifically one or more of the following: trends and forecasting time-series modelling, predictive analysis, supply-chain model forecasting, network analysis and behaviour modelling) is required.
  • Proficiency in using the programming language R is required.
