What you will be doing

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Database Administrator to join our team at VEC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database design, development, and maintenance. You will be responsible for creating and managing databases that support mission critical VEC systems, ensuring data integrity, and optimizing database performance.

Reporting directly to the IT DevOps Manager, this role will be responsible for:

  • Leading all aspects of SQL upgrades and developments, and providing technical leadership as the subject matter expert
  • Developing and maintaining all database documentation and data models and dictionaries for each application and ensuring that classified data is identified and incorporated into the solution design
  • Supporting the IT DevOps Manager with day-to-day security and maintenance of VEC IT operating environments
  • Providing database and application support during VEC elections

What you will bring to the role

  • Proven expertise and experience in SQL Server management and administration hosted on premise or in public/private cloud, support and programming.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Agile development methodology.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills partnered with effective communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve and prioritise in a fast-paced business environment
  • Commitment to the VEC's core values
