We are currently seeking an experienced lawyer with an interest in people management and leadership to join our Gippsland region team.

  • Ongoing full time (part time considered) position
  • Salary commensurate with experience, range: $91,334 - $114, 165 (pro rata) plus superannuation

About the role:
We are currently seeking an experienced lawyer with an interest in people management and leadership to join our Gippsland region team. In this role you will act as a senior lawyer and advocate while working alongside the Managing Lawyer to oversee the day to day operations of the team.
 
You will assist with the implementation and review of strategies and policies to improve client service and provide mentorship and supervision to junior team members. While this is a practising role, a substantial focus of the position is team and people management, with responsibility for up to 9 direct reports.
 
About you:
You are an experienced criminal lawyer with demonstrated leadership capabilities and a desire to expand your career in a management role, while maintaining senior lawyer responsibilities, including high level casework and appearing in complex legal matters.
 
You have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and employ these effectively when working with clients and colleagues alike. Further, you possess a strong understanding of regional legal and policy issues and the ability to utilise this understanding to contribute to the improvement of legal services in the Gippsland region.
