About the role:

The Digital Content Advisor is responsible for the creation, review, publishing and coordination of high quality and accurate digital content which meets departmental and WoVG standards.

The role manages the updating, editing and publishing cycle of web pages across the department main websites, health.vic and Better Health Channel.

Under the direction of the Digital Content lead, they will effectively manage and balance priority work, stakeholder needs, and the delivery of high-quality digital content to enable achievement of the department's strategic objectives.

They work closely with Branch colleagues and relevant business areas within the department and will use creative content to tell stories that demonstrate the benefits of government policies and initiatives. They are responsible for ensuring all content is clear, engaging and timely, and aligned to the department's digital strategy and strategic plan. 

As appropriate, they may also be required to provide support to other teams across the Branch as and when needed, including participating in out of hours media and emergency rosters, providing support for public emergencies, large-scale communications campaigns, and other high priority projects, contributing to the effective management of work across the Communications and Engagement Branch and department.

Qualifications

A tertiary qualification in digital communications, digital production or another related discipline, or equivalent current experience, would be desirable.

Specialist Expertise

  • Proven experience in web publishing using content management and other content production systems.
  • Proven experience creating content for high profile public services.
  • Demonstrated understanding of website analytics, reporting and how to apply insights to improve digital content
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SEO practices
  • Experience working collaboratively on cross-functional projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Victorian Government digital standards including the development of accessible content.

Demonstrated understanding of the public service, health sector and the operation of government.
