About the Project

The Department of Transport, has contracting relationships with our major train and tram operators - Yarra Trams & Metro Trains Melbourne, managed on behalf of the Victorian Government. DoT is establishing a new project team, which will be comprehensively reviewing the State's franchise framework.

About the Opportunity

This role will lead the Assets (Infrastructure and OCMS) work stream and work closely with the broader project team to deliver project objectives. This includes accountability for improved infrastructure and OCMS arrangements for both tram and train that address continuous improvement in management of the assets and whole of lifecycle impacts in the design and implementation of relevant service models.

About You

You will have extensive experience in providing senior stakeholders with high quality advice, leading highly functioning multidisciplinary teams to drive transport outcomes, and designing infrastructure and OCMS contracting regimes for complex government projects, ideally in a public transport setting.

Qualifications

Mandatory

• Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, asset management or other related technical field is required.
• Proven record of leading technical analysis and advisory of government initiatives, ideally in a public transport setting.
• Experience in rail assets, infrastructure and/or OCMS.
• Demonstrated experience working on major infrastructure and/or commercial projects in public and/or private sectors, including experience with a range of procurement models.

Desirable  

• Additional qualification in commerce, economics, business, management or similar
