The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of Victoria’s largest health care services providing a comprehensive range of acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services through inpatient and community based facilities. We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join and lead our Aged Persons Mental Health Program. This is a Full Time position, working 76 hours per fortnight, based at multi sites across NorthWestern Mental Health

Your Opportunity:

As a member of the NWMH Executive, the Director Clinical Services APMHP will contribute to the development of strategic direction, innovation and service development and high quality care to achieve best outcomes for our consumers and their carers

• You will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective delivery of high quality client care and the adherence by staff to established professional standards and protocols


• Responsible for Quality and Safety of Clinical programs in the Aged Persons Mental Health Program


• Ensure compliance with the Mental Health Act and other legislative requirements.

About You:

The Director of Clinical Services is a key clinical position with the Aged Persons Mental Health Program.

• The role of the Director Clinical Services is to provide clinical leadership to support the development and maintenance of a comprehensive and integrated aged mental health service


• The Director Clinical Services will undertake the statutory responsibilities of an Authorised Psychiatrist and required by the Mental Health Act for the Bundoora Extended Care Health Service


• You have extensive experience at the level of Senior Consultant Psychiatrist, preferably in Aged Psychiatry


• You have a demonstrated clinical expertise and management experience in a mental health setting


• You have a strong understanding of mental health legislation and the Mental Health Act.
