About the role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director, Public Affairs is an executive role responsible for leading the Public Affairs Branch in promoting action to prevent harm to the environment and human health from pollution and waste, developing and implementing the EPA’s strategic engagement, and raising awareness of the EPA’s role. This pivotal role is suited to an experienced executive who will lead a team through change, ensuring a positive organisational culture and maintaining the highest standards of performance and integrity. The role requires fostering strong partnerships across all levels of government, industry, and the community to achieve the organisation's goals. As a key leader, the Director, Public Affairs is instrumental in the EPA's success as a modern regulator in a new era of environmental protection in Victoria.
About you
You are a proven executive leader in strategic advisory areas, with a record of achievement highly fluid environments, with regulatory or public sector experience. You inspire teams to develop innovative solutions and have a deep understanding of regulation or similar, ideally around environmental or similarly sensitive areas. You leverage strategic relationships to influence at all levels and are committed to EPA’s vision. Your exceptional communications and leadership skills build high-performing, service-oriented teams and your consistently use sound judgment and ethics. With a history of navigating complex governance and compliance challenges, you foster continuous improvement and operational excellence for positive results for Victorian communities and environment.
