POSITION SUMMARY:

As part of a wider “shared service” operation between the two departments, the Director, Shared Corporate Systems and Reporting oversees the provision of corporate applications and associated reporting systems used for corporate management activities across the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) and the Department of Health (DH). 

The Director leads a unit responsible for the configuration, management and support of range of corporate applications including those used for financial management, budget management, human resource management, payroll, procurement, document workflow and evidence of decision making, and applications and tools used for associated management reporting of information in these areas.

Key responsibilities of the Director include:  

  • Leading a diverse group of technical and analytical staff involved in the support of systems and reporting/analytics tools who have recently been brought together as one unit in order to maintain appropriate capability and capacity to administer the full range of applications used for the management of corporate processes
  • Maintaining effective relationships with “C-suite” (Chief Finance Officer, Chief Information Officer, Chief Procurement Officer, ED People and Culture, etc.) in both DFFH and DH; key suppliers of managed services including those at whole of Victorian Government level, private sector providers and the departments' internal IT teams and other senior stakeholders across both DFFH and DH
  • Ensuring the relationship between business processes and data flows between corporate applications are appropriately configured to maximise the value obtained from those tools and efficiency of “end to end” corporate processes across multiple domains (finance, procurement, HR, payroll, etc.), and
  • Providing expert analysis and advice to DFFH and DH in relation to investment in reforms to processes and systems used for corporate functions taking into account the legacy application environment, in flight investments (including investments in document workflow, human capital management and finance and procurement) and context of the Victorian Government's investment in Common Corporate Platforms.
