Director, Strategic Procurement - Victorian 2026 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee

  • Be part of Team Victoria to deliver the 2026 Commonwealth Games
  • Establish and lead all aspects of procurement and contract management across the Victoria 2026 Organising Committee
  • Fixed Term up to June 2026

This role reports to the Chief, Corporate and Finance on an interim basis during start-up, then ultimately to the Head of Finance. Initially responsible for establishing and leading all aspects of procurement and contract management across the Victoria 2026 Organising Committee (OC), including responsibility for all supplier engagement and negotiations.

The role will develop and launch the OC's public procurement policies and guidelines with regard to fair, ethical and sustainable processes. Developing a procurement presence on the website and leading supplier identification, development and negotiation, service level agreements, contract awarding and legal signoff will be critical, as will an evaluation of current market, future trends and suppliers' business and commercial strategies to assist procurement objectives. A key task will be to establish a detailed procurement spend map for the Games.

Working alongside the Commonwealth Games Federation Partnerships' sponsorship team to ensure the optimum sponsorship opportunities are gained, the role will also liaise effectively with key members of the finance, legal functions and sponsorship functions as well as other government partners to ensure consistent processes, policies and spend opportunities are not duplicated.
