  • This role is a fixed term VPS4 level based in Melbourne
  • The successful candidate will responsible for key project management activities that will contribute to the continued success of the Drug Court Victoria (DCV) and the expansion of Drug Court to two regional sites
  • This includes responsibility for undertaking procurement processes, negotiation and monitoring of service level agreements and contracts with external providers, preparation of briefings and discussion papers, management of projects and development of policy and procedure. A key part of the role is working with stakeholders to ensure all broader implementation milestones are met

About us

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year.  The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.

The Drug Court of Victoria (DCV) is a statutory division of the Magistrates' Court of Victoria and part of MCV Specialist Courts and Programs. The division provides an alternative sentencing option to offenders with drug and/or alcohol dependency who have committed offence/s whilst under the influence of drugs or alcohol and/or to support their dependency.

About the role

You will provide overall project support to the Drug Court Program and the Senior Project Manager responsible for the expansion of the Drug Court to two regional locations. Key responsibilities include, inter alia, developing project implementation plans, creating and monitoring new policies and procedures to enhance the administrative functions of the Drug Court, developing service level agreements and controls, and preparing detailed and succinct briefings.

About you

The successful candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Victorian Courts and Tribunals, with particular reference to problem-solving courts and therapeutic jurisprudence.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in writing government briefings, developing policy and procedure and facilitating government procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and processes of project management, project lifecycle stages and project management methodologies.
