The Elder Abuse Support Co-ordinator is a temporary project position developed to support the Western Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS) and the existing Integrated Model of Care (IMoC) stakeholders to respond to suspected Elder Abuse within Victorian Health Services.
The Elder Abuse Support Co-ordinator will work closely with the Elder Abuse Liaison Officer (EALO) and therapeutic and financial counsellors and other stakeholders to actively support, engage and link older persons identified as at risk of, or experiencing elder abuse, to appropriate supports and services. Access to least restrictive pathways such as counselling and mediation will also be supported as per the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Family Violence.
