About the Role:
We have multiple permanent part-time (or casual) night shifts available (up to 40 hours per week vacant), within the Emergency Mental Health Team. EFT negotiable!
You will be responsible for be working collaboratively with the Emergency Department staff regarding the management of mental health presentations, provide support to families and carers, liaise with emergency services, contribute to research and evaluation activities, and facilitate mental health promotion and education.
What You’ll Achieve:
We are looking for experienced Senior Mental Health Clinicians (Grade 3 Psychologist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or Grade 4 Registered Psychiatric Nurse). Current Registration as an Occupational Therapist, Psychologist or Registered Nurse with the applicable Health Practitioner Board or a qualified Social Worker. For Psychologists, this means full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and endorsement as Clinical Psychologist with the Psychology Registration Board of Australia (Masters Degree minimum). About the Department:
The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) provides urgent medical care to children and adolescents. The department operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Approximately 90,000 patients, ranging from newborns to teenagers, are seen each year; this equates to 250 patients per day on average.
The RCH Emergency Department (ED) is staffed by a medical team, nurse practitioners, nursing team, clerical, allied health (i.e. social work, mental health workers etc.) and administrative staff as well as ward service assistants.
