The Victorian Inspectorate (VI) provides oversight of the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission and other integrity, accountability and investigatory bodies and their officers, and plays a key role in Victoria’s public interest disclosure scheme.

The position requires demonstrated experience in complex front-line response/enquiries management in a government or law enforcement context and the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with a diversity of people including vulnerable members of the community. Expertise with case management systems is highly desirable and experience working in a State or Commonwealth Government jurisdiction would be well regarded.

Job Overview 

As part of the Complaints team and reporting to the Manager, Complaints, the Enquiries Officer is a vital front-line, first point of contact and is responsible for receiving and responding to the numerous enquiries received by the VI. The Enquiries Officer triages incoming contacts with the VI and considers any welfare-related or other risks for the VI. They provide information about the role of the VI, refer people to appropriate as required, seek further information from a person before a matter may be accepted as a complaint and progress enquiries to closure if there is no role for the VI. The Enquiries Officer ensures the enquiries are registered and kept updated in the VI's case management system and provides administrative and operational support to the broader complaints team including registering incoming complaints in the case management system and managing the complaints team mailbox. 

The level of flexibility with working arrangements for this position is constrained due to operational requirements which necessitate onsite presence.
