About the role:

As a member of a team, you will be responsible for EPA’s on-ground regulatory response in the region,  including education, compliance monitoring and inspections, and managing non-compliance via regulatory notices and enforcement action. This is an exciting role for an operational regulator that wants to contribute to the success of the EPA as it enters a new era of environmental protection in Victoria.

 

In this role you will:

  • Work collaboratively with co-regulators, duty holders, communities, local governments and other partners to drive improved environmental and public health outcomes; and provide local intelligence to inform EPA’s strategic regulatory priorities.
  • Comply with all legislative, policy and process obligations and requirements in the conduct of regulatory operations.
  • Actively contribute to the development of a positive and high performing team culture, including by identifying and implementing opportunities to improve teamwork practices.
  • Actively support the conduct of investigations; and the delivery of preventative projects and compliance programs aligned to EPA’s regulatory priorities.
  • Participate in the response to environmental and public health emergencies and incidents.

 

Skills and experience:

  • Ability to be present at times and locations as required to successfully perform the role. This is usually satisfied by the possession of a current Victorian driver’s licence.
  • Successful completion of Authorised Officer and Field Response Officer training (on-job) (or completion within a reasonable time frame from commencement in the role.
  • Ability to work as an effective member of a cohesive team, with a demonstrated commitment to the successful delivery of the highest organisational priorities
  • Ability to deliver regulatory operations to meet organisational objectives.
  • Ability to apply relevant government legislation, regulations, reporting directives and procedures, to achieve optimal organisational outcomes.
