About the role:

The role will be overseeing the Facilities team as the Team Leader. The applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the team for both reactive and programmed maintenance tasks, along with minor project works and personnel functions across the Police Academy site in Glen Waverley.

This role will work within the Business Services Division of People Development Command and report to the Asset & Infrastructure Manager.

Your duties will include:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of a range of infrastructure support functions including, building maintenance (minor works), grounds maintenance, and support functions.
  • Management of the Facilities Services support staff including specialist contractors engaged to maintain infrastructure services.
  • Oversee and action both reactive and preventative maintenance for the facility, including the management of systems for monitoring, reporting and analysing infrastructure operation, failure and repair requests.
  • Provide advice including local administrative support for the corporate risk and business continuity functions.
  • Liaise with management and staff to collate data and prepare relevant audit and reporting requirements for internal and external stakeholders.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering maintenance works.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, assessing, and effectively mitigating operational risks.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, including occasionally under tight timeframes.
  • Ability to work autonomously, use your own initiative, and be self-motivated and driven.
  • Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously.
  • A strong commitment to Business Service Divisions strategy goals - supporting our people and embracing customer centricity, innovation, and collaboration in our delivery of services.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Academy, 1 View Mount Road, Glen Waverley 3150.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
