About the role:

The Conference Services team provides hospitality to high-ranking police officers and guests at Airlie.  Guests are generally attending full day meetings where full hospitality is provided. Food Services Assistants provide customer service, including room set ups for meetings and dinners, coffee service using espresso machines and any other requirements. Food Services Assistants are responsible for the general cleanliness of meeting rooms, dining spaces and back of house areas. They also assist the in-house Chefs in assembling and preparing ingredients for meals.

This position reports to the Team Leader and is one of 4 positions within the team.

Your duties will include:

  • Customer service.
  • Room setup for functions, meetings and VIP dinners.
  • Operating & maintaining coffee machines.
  • Cleaning & maintaining catering equipment.
  • Assisting the chef with food preparation.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in espresso coffee making.
  • High level waiting skills.
  • Experience in front of house customer service at a high level.
  • Computer experience.
  • Food handling certificate or experience.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One full time ongoing position available
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Airlie 260 Domain Road South Yarra.
  • This position requires shift work as indicated in the Position Description (as attached to the advertisement).
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with organisational policy, all Victoria Police employees are required to be fully vaccinated (including a booster vaccination) against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical exception. As such your employment with Victoria Police is subject to providing evidence of your vaccination status.
