Support Services


Support Services is responsible for the provision of non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.


Our Casey Food Services team provide services to a culturally diverse patient base in a busy acute health setting with over 230 inpatient beds, a major emergency department and mental health facility. Our Food Services team across all our facilities includes our Central Production Facility, three major acute hospitals and Residential Aged Care Services facilities. Together we strive to develop and improve the patient food service experience in the public health setting.


About the Role


The Casey Hospital Food Services Manager is an essential member of our leadership team responsible for leading our Food Services team in our pursuit to provide an exceptional patient and staff experience.


Currently operating as a 230 bed facility, this is an exciting opportunity to enrich your professional development with Casey Hospital expanding to a 390 bed facility, which includes a new Intensive Care Unit, six new theatres and four additional wards.


Working with team members at all levels, the Food Services Manager is accountable for Food Safety Program compliance, and responsible for budget & staff management and overall department performance.


The Food Services Manager reports into the Support Services Manager, Casey Hospital and is supported by a broader team of People Culture & Finance business partners, and Food Services Managers across multiples sites.


Key Targets:



  • Achieving and maintaining the highest standards in food safety

  • Providing support and leadership to diverse staff base

  • Driving service excellence with our patients and internal stakeholders


About You


You will have proven food services leadership & excellent communication skills, resilience and a demonstrated success in change management within the health sector (private or public). 


Additionally you will be able to showcase a history of successful team management and stakeholder service and will be able to demonstrate your consultative approach through successes in previous roles and projects.


What you need: 



  • Current Food Safety Supervision – For Community Services and Health Industries

  • Current Working with Children’s Check

  • Police Record Check – Vulnerable Sector

  • A minimum of three years’ experience as a Manager in a medium to large acute health setting or large Residential Aged Care Services organisation or equivalent public or private sector experience is required.

  • Detailed knowledge of quality systems, ideally HACCP

  • Positive attitude and motivational approach in facilitating change and adopting new concepts.
