Monash Health is Victoria’s largest public health service. The Public health and Infectious Disease Division is responsible for integrating the existing covid Public Health activities and the broader functions, including population health and health promotion across the South East catchment. Critical to this function is the integration and support from the infectious diseases' services and the Community programs of work. This provides an opportunity to pursue statewide public heath priorities at pace utilizing the considerable experience and expertise within the component services.
We are now looking to appoint to this newly created senior leadership role responsible for the operational performance of our Public Health and Infectious Disease functions. This role is well positioned for success in a team supported by a Clinical Operation Director, senior nursing roles and a strong Health Promotion and Partnership arm.
About the role
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Public Health and Community, the General Manager, is a key member of the senior leadership team, jointly accountable for the clinical, professional and financial performance of the Program ensuring the consistent delivery of high quality, effective and efficient care.
The General Manager in partnership with the Deputy COO and Professor Director Public Health Unit will develop and implement a Future of Public Health strategy and an operational plan that aligns with the organization’s strategic plan and priorities. They will influence the direction of public health across the State and lead performance improvement in quality and safety, patient outcomes, patient satisfaction and employee engagement.
With operational support from a strong team they will oversee the delivery of Monash Health’s immunisation, infection prevention and vaccination services across our catchment.

Your experience management roles has enabled you to build a track record of success. Your achievements include professional leadership of a significant clinical workforce within a large, complex healthcare organisation. In addition, you demonstrate:
You are an excellent communicator, with highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills, enabling you to engage effectively across a wide range of stakeholders. The incumbent requires significant relevant nursing or allied health experience.
You are likely to hold postgraduate qualifications in a relevant chosen field, or you are working towards attaining them and have extensive experience in a health service setting
